The length of the UK in 7 days

Picture
As many of you will know, this will be my second John O'Groat's to Lands End cycle ride.

Last time I undertook this adventure, we took 20 days, averaging around 60 miles per day. This time, I'm going to be more than doubling the daily distance, whilst using a bike that is 35 years older than the bike I used first time around. I shall also be carrying everything I need to cook, wash, sleep & eat. To view the route, click here.

Why make it so difficult?

I am hoping that the effort I am going to will inspire you all to dig very deep for two truly fantastic causes...
The people that they are serving need our help more than ever.

The equipment...

The frame on the bike that I intended to use has snapped in two places. It'll therefore be heading back to the scrapyard from whence it came! However, I am determined to use a vintage racing bike (it wouldn't be as challenging if I were to use a modern, lightweight bike). As such, I am currently renovating a second frame, which cost me £10 from the same scrapyard!
